Plant based
- Many studies show that adopting a vegan diet is the single biggest thing we can do as individuals to make a positive impact on the planet. Factory farming (the meat and dairy industries) produces more greenhouse gasses than all planes, trains and cars put together.
- Research reflects that adopting a plant-based diet has significant health benefits when it's done mindfully, and that plant based foods will "help you work toward the prevention of many illnesses and feeling better overall."
Free of refined ingredients
- Instead of oil, we use nut butter and instead of sugar, we use maple syrup.
- Maple syrup has a lower glycemic index than table sugar (higher glycemic index foods spike one's blood sugar levels), and has more minerals than table sugar.
- In contrast to oil, nut butters are higher in protein and fiber and lower in saturated fat.
